Come and join us for a new discussion in French about the movie "Amour" by Austrian director Michael Haneke, Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival in 2012.

Synopsis:

Georges and Anne are in their eighties. They are cultivated, retired music teachers. Their daughter, who is also a musician, lives abroad with her family. One day, Anne has a stroke, and the couple’s bond of love is severely tested. Veteran French stars Jean-Louis Trintignant and Emmanuelle Riva are unforgettable in Austrian director Michael Haneke’s tender, wrenching story of love and death.

About the speakers: 

Stéphanie Pouliquin is a teacher at Alliance Française. She studied art history and currently teaches French cinema and literature at AF.

Jonathan Le Bourhis is an administrative officer at Alliance Française. He holds a Bachelor of Cinema and Audiovisual (Sorbonne University) and wrote his Master's thesis on Japanese director Kenji Mizoguchi (Australian National University).
